Corporate Giving
Corporate partnerships are fundamental to NPower’s history, mission and vision. Most of NPower’s founders were senior executives from Microsoft, Accenture, JPMorgan Chase and other Fortune 500 companies. Their goal was to help the nonprofit sector gain the enormous new capabilities that information technology had brought to their own businesses—and begin using them to improve the quality of life in every community.
Today, NPower has embarked upon a strategy to become the national "charity of choice" for corporate CIOs and other IT leaders. As more new partners join our work, we are expanding our vision, by scaling our network, services and solutions in unprecedented ways.
Working together, in fact, we have a unique opportunity -- not just to build a stronger, more sustainable nonprofit sector, but to create an entirely new kind of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. We already know that by leveraging the power of IT, nonprofits can educate more children, strengthen and preserve more families and protect and care for more of the disabled, elderly and vulnerable. All that's missing is a robust national vehicle that can effectively channel corporate IT expertise and resources to strengthen nonprofits and the communities they serve.
NPower will be that vehicle. To this end, we are engaging in two broad, strategic thrusts:
• Build our CIO Council to convene national corporate IT leaders and engage them in working together.
• Launch a national IT Needs Portal that will match local nonprofits with skilled corporate IT volunteers, surplus hardware/software and other corporate IT resources.
We invite your company to join us. For further information, please write to corporate@npower.org, or call Stephanie Hyacinth at 212-444-7281.
